Wintersteiger Tuning

New Wintersteiger stonegrind and ceramic disc tuning machines for state-of-the-art precision and performance. Overnight tunes on skis and boards received by 5 pm.

Why do I need to tune my skis or board?

The base and edges of your skis or board determine control, ease of turning and speed. A properly prepared base and clean, polished edges, along with a high quality wax, will drastically improve your performance and ability!

How often should I tune my skis or board?

You should start the season with any of our state-of-the-art stone grind tunes (gold, silver or bronze, see below). If this is done, you can continue the season by getting only your edges sharpened as they become burred. We call this our "grind maintenance", and the cost is much less than a full tune. If you can feel a lot of burring when you run you fingers along the metal edge of your skis or board, it’s time to get this done. A full stone grind tune is not necessary again (and not recommended) unless you have had repairs done to your base or want to change the structure of your base. When you bring your skis or board in to Alpine Sports, we can easily determine if and what type of tuning is necessary.

GOLD TUNE - $55. Stone grind, Ceramic disk finish, Hand wax and polish.

SILVER TUNE - $45. Stone grind, Ceramic disk finish, Hotwax and polish.

BRONZE TUNE - $35. Stone grind, Hotwax and polish.
